Fig

The common fig (Ficus carica) is a deciduous, sun-loving, small tree or shrub from the mulberry family (Moraceae), known for its sweet, edible, tear-drop-shaped fruit. Native to the Mediterranean and Western Asia, it grows 7–10 m (23–33 ft) tall with large, deeply lobed leaves. Figs are commonly eaten fresh or dried and are rich in nutrients.
